Eighteen years ago Detective Kuan-Yin Lui could not solve a series of seemingly random and vicious attacks that gripped China – the attacks just stopped and nothing more was said; hushed up by the Central Government. Flash forward to today and Detective Lui, now living in Ottawa, is once again haunted by the same random series of attacks that has killed dozens of people. Lui and his partner find themselves in a race against time to solve the mystery behind the killings. Normal people don’t just get up and start murdering, but that’s just what’s happening.

I was inspired to write this story from an old 1950's radio drama 'X - Minus 1'. I've always enjoyed listening to old time radio dramas. Mystery, Drama and of course Science Fiction from the 1930's through to the 1950's are full of hope, excitement and adventure. The writers, always under the watchful eye of the network censors, wrote incredible radio shows that excited and inspired listeners around North America every day. I was listening to an episode of X-Minus One some time ago and was inspired to write a short story based on this episode.

This is the updated draft (Parts 1 to 4) of a short story I'm currently working on....Its still in a draft stage and I have made some changes and corrections since I first posted it. Feedback is very welcomed - good and bad. BTW, this is my FIRST attempt at 'real' fiction writing and I can honestly say I have NEVER before written a love story. While this began as a short story, its turning into something a bit longer so I'm not really sure what direction I'll take as the narrative progresses.
