This poem was a class assignment last winter. I was to write a "persona" poem. I chose to write as a Vietnam Veteran [my heroes] ... for my Cyber-Brothers, Todd, Ron, Bob and the big S.

Dedicated to all who flew B-52s over Vietnam ... which I indeed used to watch take off from Kadena on Okinawa.

In 1967 I lived in Okinawa. My former husband was a soldier stationed at Torii Station. We lived across from Camp McToureous, a marine base. I lived in a tiny compound without a phone, car, or anyone who spoke English. What happened to me that night taught me that indeed I am afraid of no man and no woman.

This poem was inspired by older veterans of war. In other words old men, whom I adore.
