Michael... Shakatoah, Moonrose and StarPoet are all right. It is difficult to improve upon 'perfection'... I will say this though..., real genius is not always 'born'. Sometimes..., just sometimes, if you dig deep, long, and hard enough with the expectation (faith) that good things come to those who prepare for it... then, your future is certain. One last thing..., do not 'live' someone else's dream - follow your own. Do not expect the get the same results as another person... who may have little trouble getting results. If all you have is lemons..., make lemon aid - your own. Never measure your success or failures by someone else's standards. Do only what you are able, and learn to do it better..., by doing this, you will discover an untapped road that will lead you to a journey many would have never taken the time to find. Be well Mike. God's speed

Hi Michael. Your profile story is one of the most inspirational I've read in a very long time and your face (from your photo) absolutely glows with goodness. I agree with StarPoet - sometimes the best way to learn is the hard way. You'll never forget the lesson because it's etched on the very core of your being. The past is no longer 'real', simply because it is past. The future is built from a whole lot of moments laid side by side, that you experience in the here and now.
My greatest admiration is for people who've pulled themselves up by the bootstraps in the face of criticism and adversity - you're one of those people and personally, I think you're future is going to be brilliant...perhaps not the way you envisioned it but from the perspective of spiritual development and personal growth, you already ARE brilliant. I have an eclectic spirituality but there's a line somewhere in the bible that tells us the day will come when the 'first will be last and the last will be first.' Success in the eyes of the world isn't success in the eyes of the Great I AM. Thank you for your inspiration.

Michael as one New Yorker (Queens) to another, you had to learn your lesson the hard way. Sometimes the best way to learn a life lesson is the hard way. As long as you learned from it and strive to do better for your life in the future, then the lesson you were taught will be priceless.
I am speaking from experience. (Read my poem on here "I Love My Freedom)
And finally, to all the nay sayers and people who put you down and will continue to do so...always remember this simple quote: "Get mad, then get determined to do your best".
