Moments of Bliss
I sat here on the bench, the cold began to seep into my skin, despite the thick wool jacket I was wearing.  As I sighed, my white breath permeated in the frosty air.
"It should be... another ten minutes."
Talking to myself as I often do, I closed my eyes and continued to wait for 'her'.
Suddenly, something hot brushed against my cheek. Startled, I jumped up from my seat.
"Ahahaha! It's funny how that gets everyone!"
Frantically looking around, I was still in a state of shock. It wasn't long until I realized that the prank was pulled by a familiar trickster. The beautiful sound of 'her' giggling almost melted my heart. There she was, can of hot cocoa in hand, an orange knit hat over her straight, blond hair. Her crystal blue eyes gazed on me with a look of mischief, and a slight grin touched her lips. Feeling my ears grow hot, I immediately looked at the ground. Puzzled, she questioned me.
"What's wrong? Aren't you happy I'm here?"
At first glance, it would seem she wasn't worried at all. But looking closely, I could tell her hair was slightly messed up, and her makeup seemed a bit off. She must've been as nervous as I was. This thought was so cute it made me want to hug her right there.
"Of course I'm happy you're here", I muttered bashfully, "I'm just thinking about something."
"And what might that be? How cute I am?"
She grinned from ear to ear.
"... Yeah, I guess so."
I looked up at her with a smile. She immediately flushed a scarlet red.
For a few seconds, it was dead quiet.
"Well... should we go?"
Trying to seem more confident, I raised my voice a bit.
"Yeah."
She nodded.
Together, we began to walk through the quiet park.
"Hey", she said as she turned to me, "come here for a second."
I did as she asked.
With an impish smile, she pulled of the edge of my scarf, so it covered my face all the way up to my eyebrows.
"Can you see like this?"
"No. Not really."
I pulled the scarf back down.
"Ahaha."
She skipped a few feet in front of me and turned around.
"Hurry up!"
I ran up to her, and began to rub my hands together.
"Wow, it's been really cold recently, don't you think?"
I decided to try and fill the silence.
"Yep! But I'll bet you it's colder in Russia!"
I chuckled quietly.
"I'll bet you it is."
I sighed.
I realized that these moments of pure bliss had become more numerous during my time together with 'her'. No matter how sad I had become, how angry, how lonely. Just the sight of her face could make me happy again.
"Hey, hey." she said as she blew into her hands.
"Mm?" I turned slowly.
"Thanks for being with me."
I felt my ears grow hot, and felt my lips form a wide grin. For a while, we continued to walk with no words. Even during the silence, I wished this moment would never change. I was satisfied just being around her, and no words were required for us to share our feelings. Suddenly, the silence was broken by a loud yelp.
"Iya!"
It seemed as though she had slipped on some snow, and she was looking at me with teary eyes, with an arm outstretched, asking for help.
I smirked at her clumsiness. Looking up at the grey sky, I reached for her hand. The lack of heat surprised me.
"Your hands are cold.", I whispered with a smile on my face.
"So are yours."
With this, we walked down this snowy path, hearts content, and our cold, gloveless hands entwined together.

Nice little story that reminds me of the cuteness of a young love. Warms up a cold day.
