Alone
I am alone.Take me lightly at your own peril. I am a force to be reckoned with. I amdestruction. I am a baptismal cleanse and I execute my power indiscriminately.I am absolute, without peer or rival.
My armssweep everything I can see. My eye sees all, I see what’s coming and where I’vebeen. My wrath all encompasses, I expect fear and respect from below.
I’ve takenmany lives. I’ve leveled many buildings. I’ve never been stopped. I scoff atyour attempts to follow me. I announce my presence by wreaking havoc on whatyou call precious. I cause panic where there was calm.
You runthough you can’t hide. You curse my name, though you won’t speak to me. Youpray to a holy spirit, but he sets not my path. You wish for my death, yet Ihave no reason to live. You move in futility, though you still move.
As Ipillage, you flee. As you pray, I scoff. As I move across your land, I change. As I struggle against the change, my furious tears fade. As the fury fades, thesadness builds. As I move away from the invincible body that birthed me, youprove your strength and my weakness. As you survive as many, I dwindle andcease to exist as I came. I am alone.
