Auto biographical
Hi here's a thought how many of you believe that what we write is auto biographical. No matter how hard we try not to let our lives become public,no matter how we write fiction. Is there an element of bio graphics in what we write?I had heard this theory once before, but I took little notice of it, until I started writing more and more. I can give you an example here, I write stories that mostly feature lone wolf characters. Characters that may not necessarily be masculine or heroic. But characters that achieve or try to achieve and or aspire to do greater things than may be they are suited to. Characters who are lone wolf types who find themselves in situations were they have to co operate or work in team situations. I do not consciously write the characters but there is something that comes out of typing stories, shaping stories and just playing around with ideas and writing. so next time you put finger to key board and produce a wonderful piece of romance, mystery, crime., just read it through and see how much of you , you have put into that work. I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on this. Sincerely zaccats

Hey Z, I think this can be true. In my case, I often write about aspects of my own life or experiences, but there are others that are in no way autobiographical, and example being the one I just posted, a humor poem called "The Maid Asks for a Raise." I friend in the UK sent me an awkwardly worded joke that is along these lines and I rewrote it almost completely into a more effective form. Also, I often write about people and places I have known and these is little in those writes that is in any way autobiographical. You have raised an interesting question. Elton
