Maple, brown sugar melts within
Hot bowl of mushy instant oatmeal
Cooled slightly with a drop of milk
Spoon happy warmth into my mouth
Decorative mug from Christmas past
Liquid chocolate afloat with mallows
Stir with red, white peppermint stick
Slurp the frothy snuggle in a cup
Belly full and round like Santa
Cozy throw entombs me on couch
Dancing colors twinkle on green
Lulls me into winter sleep again.
