Is Horror Dead?

Does a changing of the guard mean the end of a genre as we know it?

This article talks about the decline of horror movie success in hollywood. I think its a great topic in today's industry, aside from Saw, there really has not been a breakout horror movie in recent times and even with its success the character has been undermined with countless sequels. According to the article many horror fans are screaming for something new and exciting, but what else can you really do? In terms of horror, everything has already been done, we are far past the glory days of characters like Freddy, Jason and Michael Myers. I will always like the idea of horror movies but in todays society great horror movies are few and far between.

Heck, there is enough horror happening in our everyday lives! What happens all over this planet, on the daily is enough to appease anyone who has a need for it! For many, life is one big "A.." horror movie!
