The Sickness Hurts

Sleepless nights...
The sickness hurts
All her troubles seem to go away
Faded and transformed from the blazing fire and blackness
She calls home

Forever lost
In the heat of memories
Searching amongst the broken wreckage of mindlessness
Wandering patiently
Silently
Waiting for the mirror to fall from the wall and break

She closes her eyes
Flying from the depths of eternity
She goes to a place
No one can claim their own
'Cept for her
Waterfalls, flowing into pools of shimmering clouds
Butterflies dance in the air
A place where no one dares to go,
But her...

Aurora Borealis awakens the deafness
The darkness brightened by colour
Fireworks of light flow throughout the sky
Calling, begging,
"Leap from the safe nest of sanity,
For you will find paradise here."

The sickness hurts
The mind enraged
So many armies of soldiers
Battling away against the solitude
Against a society of safety
Against the glittering waterfalls of her heaven
Back to the darkness and pitfalls of the hell
The reality

The only life she is ever to know...

Synopsis
Well obviously this was written about a "sickness." Maybe you can figure out which one, I'm not telling. But if you have the correct answer I'll give you a cookie :) I guess it doesn't really matter what it's about, just what it means to you.
