A Little Boy Torn Apart

A little boy torn apart,

That’s used just like a tool.

To inflict her will upon me,

To make me pay her bill.

The new way he sees her,

Breaks his spirit each day.

Where once he was the center of her world,

Now he wonders where he stands.

He wants her time and attention.

To know he’s in her heart.

I wonder if she treats him like a task,

Because in him she sees me?

I try to tell her of his hurt,

To stop the damage before it starts.

Because we love the mother she was,

We want to have her back.

But fairgrounds over ballgames,

Showed him where her priorities are.

Leaving a question in him,

Seen within his eyes.

He wonders why she doesn’t go

To the lengths she did before .

He wonders what he did to her,

His eyes cry out . . . WHY???

good work again sir...... your poems are definitely very thought provoking........ and their aesthetic value is equally accompanied by a strong theme...
