Someone I’ve Never Met

I saw your smile.
That’s all it took.
There was just something
about that look in your eyes.
I was hypnotized.
The rain that was falling
was replaced by the sun
and I knew you were the only one.
Then I cried,
because I knew,
despite anything I could do,
you were unreachable.
I tried but I just can’t forget.
I fell in love with someone
I’ve never met.

I hear the laugh that makes me smile,
makes everything seem worthwhile.
It’s only temporary
because I know
it’s my imagination,
this wonderful sensation.
I wonder why I put me through
this painful infatuation with you.
And I cry
because I know
it’s a dream I can’t let go.
O, tell me how do I forget?
I love someone I’ve never met.

 Let go of my heart.
I just can’t bear it.
Everytime you smile, you tear it
apart in little pieces.
Your laugh, your eyes, you body teases.
I want to know you, want to show you
that though I’m someone
you’ve never met,
I’ll be someone you won’t forget.
You’ve done the impossible, you see.
You brought the love out in me.
How can I tell you?
What can I say?
I cry
because it hurts to feel this way,
to love someone so deeply yet
Know you’re
someone I’ve never met.

Oh, I DO like this one, but, again, I want a bit more showing rather than telling. I feel it mainly because I know what you're talking about (I think). Some lines are perfect - "I wonder why I put me through this painful infatuation with you." In other lines, rather than tell it hurts, I want to see how. (and again, this is what I find so hard to write myself.)
