Drunk Driver
I was drunk
She was scared
I was on the road
She was there
I turned my wheels
She turned her head
I struck her
She is not yet dead.

I stepped out
She lay limp
I walked over
She tried to lift her head
I said Im sorry
She just cried
I repeat those words
She then died.

Thank you, Im glad to hear that you quit drinking and driving, Me and my mom were talking last night and what we were saying is very true, People who drink and drive may not be bad people, But it takes only that one stupid mistake to change their own life and someone else's, I just wish that the whole world would realize this.

A simple and touching piece here. You gave her an ode here that cuts to the heart. And I agree with both of you in that drunk drivers don't care until it is too late. I now realize that from my own stupidity of doing this same thing. Luckily for me I did not hurt or kill anyone, and I quit before that happened. (See my poem "I Love My Freedom"
