The Sun Didn't Come Out
Lying awake under the blankets
No feeling of warm rays
No feelings of excitement
Lying awake under the blankets daydreaming
Not sleeping
My eyes are shut, I can feel drowning feeling of sleep whispering to me, feel my body come in and out of this trance
Lying awake under the sheets I can hear the beeping of the construction trucks
the faint accelerating cars in the distance
hear the quick footsteps of a jogger
I lay here
I wonder what the day will bring
No emotions
No motivation to open these eyes and look at the cloudy sky
Sleep whispers my name
Laying awake under the sheets
Sleep calls to me
I feel my body run in and out of this drunken state
No trace of the sun's rays warm embrace
No laughing, no emotion
Plain
Clouds....forever they seem
And no the sun didn't come out
