Nessa Monroe

I keep replaying you

In my mind.

It’s like a tape;

I go back in time.

I feel your hands.

I taste your mouth.

I know you again,

Inside and out.

You touch my neck.

I lick your teeth.

You know every

Part of me.

I hold you, and

I don’t let go.

I can’t get back

The heart you stole…

The days go by,

But I can’t feel.

You’re not gone.

This isn’t real.

How could I fall

So easily?

How did you find

That part of me?

I hold his hand,

But I see you.

I kiss his mouth;

I’m kissing you.

He’s proud when I

Walk in the room;

I’m prouder when

I’m next to you.

   I keep seeing you,

   Everywhere.

   But when I look,

   You’re never there.

   It’s like a tape:

   I go back in time

   To the days and nights

   When you were mine.
