The eve of commencement part 9
On the morning of the fifth day
The Camp still in disarray
They dispatched a weary column
For the wounded to relay

Tomorrow would resume the trek
Through the brutal outer lands
Each man was well aware of
The dangers and demands

Till then they had no inkling
What their mission was to be
Though this night Grantor would tell them
Twas to set their comrades free

Once the risomn fires were set for eve
Grantor stood and took control
He spoke then with some fervour
Explained each and every goal

The target was the citadel
Then the fortress of Hamour
A silence then fell over them
There would be casualties galore

For years they had lived in purgatory
At the whim of Farrant’s rule
No longer would they capitulate
To one so evil, dark and cruel

Though terror spread through the ranks there
Each could see this was the way
To free their captured comrades
Plus to have the final say

As Grantor paused one second
There was raised a hearty cheer
His words were inspirational
There was no more thought of fear

He beckoned to his Yer-men
To hand out the stock of Gend
They deserved one night oblivious
Before what would soon impend
