The Thirteenth Floor
Susie wasn't thinking
When she switched off her phone
She never really realized she would
Be there quite alone

She checked in very early
Then made the room her own
The candles in the bathroom
The bath soon filled with foam

A light meal in the restaurant
Then soon retired to bed
Relaxed and feeling confident
Now that she'd been fed

Sleep came to her quite easy
Then drifting into dreams
This place was just so perfect
Or so at least it seems

Though as the clock struck midnight
The decor was to change
She woke to see a room
That was dated and so strange

Then muddled and confused now
She searched to find the light
No switch at all to find here
Was scared now by her plight

She left the room to search out
To find some living soul
Reception was her target
It had to be her goal

The lift looked antiquated
It was rickety at best
She had no choice but use it
She had to find the rest

The gates she pulled behind her
Then pressed for the ground floor
But the numbers didn't decrease
They just added more and more

Then finally it settled
On the floor marked thirteen
Then from that day to this
She has never, ever been seen
