The Floxnar Horde part four
The mists now far behind them
They rallied to the cause
They were now behind their schedule
From this annoying, scaring pause

The time must be accounted for
And made up as they rode
Grantor bade them all to mount
Then their Garrants all to load

The column left the gully
With its chieftain at its face
Not one of them regretting
The leaving of this place

They followed the path of Aguran
As its flow pointed the way
And made good mileage, after all
In the course of the first day

At night they formed a loose camp
The Escamants nearby
With sentries at each exit
Lest the enemy might try

By day they made good progress
No challenges of note
Till they neared the cliffs of Barnone
As the Escamants did float

Grantor felt uneasy
He could sense something was wrong
He raised his Garrant skyward
To halt his filliman throng

A glint of Floxnar armour
On the cliff top high above
Confirmed his intuition
Of the enemy thereof

He barked a hurried order
His men acted as one
They formed a defensive circle
So as not to be outdone

In seconds from the cliff tops
Glided in the Floxnar horde
The first waves easy dealt with
As swiftly put to sword

The shear weight of their numbers
Made the battle long and hard
Though they were no match for the filliman
As one by one they did discard

At last the conquest proven
The beaten did retreat
The journey could resume again
The victory complete
