Something Drew Me
I can’t tell you what it was that took me
To that random place that day
There was something brooding in my mind
That simply had to have its say
I knew I had to travel
To find what I must find
As I sat behind the steering wheel
I may as well be blind
The car pulled from the pavement
Then started on its way
Though I swear I had no idea why
Still not until this day
For hours it seemed I travelled
Till I met a mountain lane
It just felt right to carry on
I really can’t explain
The car pulled to a lay-by
A path led through the trees
It was silent all around me
Not a hint of any breeze
My heart beat was now racing
As my goal I knew I neared
The path turned sharply rightward
Then a clearing just appeared
Then suddenly I realised why
I was drawn here to this place
For, for the very first time
I gazed my lovers face
