to my child
you began as a dream
wishes of what might be
a sibling for one who had died before
and in love you were conceived

you weren't an easy babe
to carry or to birth
but from the moment
you were placed into my arms
I was in awe, lovestruck
so happy, so complete

you were my shadow
your tiny footsteps
following mine anywhere, everywhere
bright eyes always watching
busy little hands
searching, touching, learning

I gave you life
in return
you gave me
total unconditional love
the sort that only a child
has for her mother

yesterday you turned 22
and the love has never waned
only deepened
strengthened, matured
I am so proud of the woman
that my child has become

someday you too will know
the the joy of holding
your first born babe
and you then too
will know of which I speak

You have done her well here. Motherhood is never easy and your daughter will find that out soon. But with you helping her, things will be ok. My best goes out to you both!

Thanks Michele...I am very proud of my girl. She went through some bad times as a teenager but really pulled herself together and is doing well for herself
