plea to a goth
O dark angel
you hold your pen of poison
and speak with words of vice
your body is an firepit
a place where demons dwell
your tongue is a jagged sword
your heart is cold as stone
no love do you feel
for those who love you

spare a moment
to consider
the harm you are doing
spare a thought
for the seeds that you sow
be aware that
those who surround you
those you think your friends
they'll be the first
to eviscerate you

O dark angel
there is time to amend
the wrong you have done
time to heal the deep wounds
that fester and ooze
to shed your dark cloak
and breathe the clean air
and be once again
the girl that you were

look to the shining light
whose guidance you shun
ask for forgiveness
for all you have done
our days on this earth
are troubled enough
without you causing such grief
with whatever you touch

O dark angel
be true to yourself
you were born with such hope
such spirit and grace
not to wear a dark mantle
and spite on your face
throw aside your black wings
and let in the light
the people who love you
want the girl that they knew
so cast off that noisome creature
who dwells inside you

A Word from the Writer
Previously titled 'Dark Angel' I realised that this poem was taking on Goth qualities as it progressed. That wasn't my original intention, but I am happy with the result
