The Pleasures of a Storm

It roars and rolls over the clouds

Announced by the brightest bolt ever found

Feel it rumbling in your chest

Primeval defenses are sounding profound

White streaks jumping up to the sky

And the water falls like rivers

And the fright boils up

From somewhere deep inside

The fear can be delicious

Like a fall from a roller coaster

The feeling of the rain as falls on you face

Caresses your body as it drowned every place

As the wind starts to blow

Keeping time with the roars

And bolts still jumping

Streaking across the sky

You can feel the electricity

Flowing thru the air

Making the hair stand up on your neck

Tingling the skin as it all causes the effect

Mother Nature is putting on quiet a show

But to enjoy it you must give up control

Danger is very attractive and alluring

Adrenaline flowing freely as you stand so bold

A Thunder Storm is one of her most magnificent shows

Wonderful sentiments on/for a stormy day. You do nature proud here. I often felt the same things you write about as I stand outside watching nature gather her fury and then release it. That bolt of energy that runs down your spine when you hear a powerful thunderbolt is scary yet exciting. On a side note, I too wrote a poem about thunderstorms titled "Thunderstorm Love". Have a look for it's subject is about a thunderstorm, with love mixed in.
