Mr. Right

So you primp and you curl
Brushes and mirrors and body sprays
Short skirt or jeans?
Slacks or a dress?
Oh you want to look your very best

Out there with your best face forward
Had your nails and hair done
And all ready for anything the world can give
Did I shave my legs? OH lord is this it?
Going out again with another man

One after another parade thru life
Short ones and tall ones
Thin, average or "a few extra pounds"
Wanting a Mommy, a Lover, a Meal Ticket
Never know what's on their minds

Jaded and bitter and paranoid
Been taken advantage of too many times
Heart broke and mended a 1000 times
And they too feeling the ravages of life
Will I even recognize him if I run into him?
For in this life I may be blind to the sight

The sight of Mr. Right

Thank you OneVoice. You might be interested to know that on August 15th I met a man. He is (so far) all I have ever wanted. Hopefully the search is over. I am a realist. Not a dreamer or one to believe in fait, but I swear if there is such a thing as love at first site I has happened to us. Wish me luck that I may have found "Mr. Right" Thanks for all your input. It is greatly appreciated.

One Voice sums it up so well, like he always does. May I add to his wisdom with this quote: "Experience is a great teacher. It helps you to recognize a mistake when you make it again". One more. "If you have tried something and failed, you are greatly better off than if you done nothing and succeeded". This quote works with love also. On a side note, read my poem "The Other" for it kind of goes along with your poem here, in the search for that one love. I wish you well on your quest.

This 'speaks' emotionally to the point. Very 'exacting' piece.

...I understand!!! To the question of "Will I even recognize him if I run into him?" My response would be - YES... you will. It's clear you know what you 'don't' want. As I understand it... Those who've come and gone have left some 'history' with you - the type I suspect has, in some cases, left a 'bad taste' in your 'proverbial' mouth. I'd wager you'd remember this. As you 'reflect' on the past..., it serves as a reminder what not to repeat. The 'issue or the question' could be whether you'll repeat your same patterns in the 'way' you look for him. Interesting piece.
