Give Me Darkness
The darkness closes in
So cold and remote
Can’t see the light
Want to remain

In my mind

Don’t want to see the light of day

Safe in here with just myself

You can’t hurt me here

You can’t touch me here

You can’t drive me insane

Wish I could feel your warmth
All that lingers is the smell of your skin
The way you held me...I can still feel your arms

The darkness closes in
No warmth can remain
Don’t want to feel anything

And yet my mind wanders back to your memory

Your smile....your eyes....and the lies

Oh give me the darkness...the cold

In my mind...within so the pain will go

Nothing but darkness is better...better than the memory of you

This cuts deep and personal. The depths of your pain is revealed when you want to remain in the dark because of the pain. But yet those memories just won't go away. I can relate to this so much for I felt the same way after I came home unexpectedly one day and found another man in the house. Our marriage was over then and she was gone 2 days later. But those memories. . .
