Mother Earth's Sorrow

Her tears fall by the buckets,

Shattering into tiny water slivers before they are gobbled up by the hungry mouth of the greedy soil.

Never to be seen,

Washing over those who she’s long sheltered,

Even as they devour her loving soul.

Ripping and raging through her,

Claiming more than deserved,

Still she openly gives time and again.

In her arms she cradles to her breast,

Protecting from Jack Frost’s scorn,

Her long warm fingertips caressing cheeks of those uplifted faces as they spray across the sky,

Dragging in each new day complete with transparent scattered kisses.

Mother Earth is crying today,

Faintly her moans are hear as her angry flashes in display.

Once in a while she does this,

Shows the world her pain,

Mother Earth’s sorrow is clear on dark rainy days.

You are so very right here for Mother Earth is in much pain because of us humans. I even wrote about this same subject in my book. ("My Children(The Earth Speaks). Kudos to you !
