THE WIND BLOWS COLD

The wind blows cold

Tears a father weaps

Who lost his only son

The cried out mother sleeps

Her will to live is none

The wind blows cold

A lonely lovers gloom

A bride that lost her groom

She holds her stomach tight

Theres a baby in her womb

The wind blows cold

A life that left to sudden

But soon

The sun will butt in

And warmth

The wind will blow

And as sure as death

We find

The wind shall sow

The seeds life leaves behind

There is promise and hope in sadness and your poem here bought that out. I like your choice of words and their placement. One small suggestion is to maybe use something other than "butt in". Maybe comes in?

A Word from the Writer
Most of what I feel is my best work is what comes free without lots of thought-it just seems to flow out of my mind and sometimes Im lucky enough to have a pen and paper near when this happens. THE WIND BLOWS COLD is one of those moments, that I captured some thoughts that really seem to flow beautiful and meaningful. I wrote this poem many years ago and I really think its profound, I feel its really about the circle of life. As for sharing any of my poetry, my choices are usually random . I love writing and do so much of it, the variety is endless. Although this will only be the third poem I have posted, I really look forward to, and value the opinion of the reader. I look forward to sharing more work and being inspired by the many talents featured at WRITINGROOM.
