The "Simpsons" television show is still the longest running animated feature in tv history still today. Mr. Matt Groening the creator of the simpsons has decided it was finally time to move it to the big screen. He will use the help from many others as he attempts to try an super size the simpson family. One problem they were facing was that the aspect ratio of the television show was 1.33:1 and they needed to work at a ratio of 2.35:1 for the big screen. They could not do the close up shots like in most hollywood films because the characters consist of a big yellow head with two huge eye balls so they had to fill up the background instead witch took a bus load of animaters to create enough material on time. They also used story reels for the first time on the show. Producer richard saki used his Wacom Cintiq drawing tablet that just plugged right into the server and was able to extract frames out of the story reel. He then could alter the frames and plug them back into the server and upload the perfected frame right back into the original. The crew cut the film into sequences and spilt them into teams of ten people. A team of directors watched over the animaters and could edit, change anything that they saw fit without the hassle of shutting the whole show down to do it.The Simpsons movie was the only major-studio 2D human character film out that year.
