Sammy's Thoughts

I was in love with Sally.
Of course, I am not anymore.
Years pass.
In Sally's days, we went places together.
These days dreary, clumsy for me.
While my handsome charm takes a new girl,
I sometimes can't remember my first love.
So?  The something pristine about Sally
is lacking from darling Christine.
A day with a sweetheart saunters by,
but does the love felt remain?
Sweetheart day.  Days of sweet love.
I know what it means.
Sally's love--in memory--faded.
Is gone.
I lack the pleasure of Sally as Sally
that I did not realize.
In love with her.
Out of love with her.
I am beautiful.
I've won my next love,
in awkward fashion.
