Why

Why

Empty dark eyes

Staring into space

Feeling devoid of purpose,

Have you embraced the grave?

Are you ready to leave behind ,

All that you love?

To give up your soul

For an unknown place

Without thought of the cost,

To those left behind.

Who will pick up the pieces

Of  a shattered life?

Is one fateful moment worth

All the pain?

You have passed on to the living,

On  one fateful day.

Oh my! I'm sorry. There have been 2 suicides in my family. It is hard. God bless you.

I feel for you and with you here. You tell your sadness and that "why" well. I never, and still do not understand why my very good friend in high school took his own life at age 18. Your poem here touches me, and all who read it.

I am sorry about your brother as well.My brother was only 40,and I have worked through most of my grief after almost 5 years.I know It will take you awhile, but In time you will find some peace.I probably will never understand what led my brother to take his life, but have accepted that it.Take Care of Yourself.Would you please rate my poem when you get the chance.I can use all the constructive criticism,as I've only been writing a couple of years.
