The Politicians Out There

THE POLITICIANS OUT THERE

There are Politicians out there that I hate to see

Because they’re causing anger, pain and misery

They watch callously while people die

Then they turn their backs and give a pleasing sigh

They pretend to be in charge

But they present a better picture of lunatics at large

In public, they pretend they will ease our pain

But in private they do things to increase the strain

They tell us to hold our heads up high

But they will do nothing to help our children who cry

They tell us our country we should be proud to die for

And so they go out and create wars

They tell us they would one day make peace

But the war they refuse to cease

The world is getting so corrupt, it’s a crying shame

With these people in charge playing head games

They play tricks on our minds

And tell us things will be better in time

They do things to turn us against each other

And watch as brothers kill brothers

Election times, they make promises to the poor

And when they win, these promises they ignore

They try to make us understand

That it is wrong to give a helping hand

People of a different race

Are made to feel out of place

The world is falling apart

Because there no love left in man’s heart

This poem is so very relevant to Politicians all around the world. It seems that they are elected by the people, and then once elected, they forget about those people. It's sad that the world has to be like this, and yet, I have not given up hope that it can and will change, for the better.
