We May Never Forget 911

We May Never Forget 911

We may never forget the horror
On the day Americans call 911
The day that touched the world
When the dust and smoke blotted out the sun

That was the fateful day
When fear and sorrow touched our hearts
The day when innocent lives were lost
When great nations were torn apart

The years have been and gone
Since that fateful day
People are still mourning
Wondering when the pain will go away

Babies growing bigger
The ones their fathers did not meet
Never to feel their arms around them
Never to feel their kiss upon their cheek

But still the world keeps turning
Night turns into day
Nightmares slowly fading
As new ‘moments’ come our way

We have learnt not to take for granted
The lifestyle in which we once felt safe
Though we will not be stopped from living
Within Gods almighty Grace.

Beautiful and heartfelt, Dee. This was a most horrific day for us all - as well as a day that we will never forget.
