The Dreaming Place
The Dreaming Place Here I am in that special place. That lies between heaven and earth The place where we dream our dreams And have, since the days of our birth It’s a place where I go every night When I finally close my eyes The place of dreams and visions Where we try to distinguish truths, from lies It’s a place where I know that I am dreaming Yet still I let the visions run Scenes from places remembered Or of things that I have done Recalling childhood adventures Dreaming of people who have gone Creating so many mixed emotions Like the words from lives true song Are dreams meant to tell us Of events yet to come Or are they sent to remind us Of things that we have done I have woken up crying Because of things that I have seen Feelings that have been so real Even though I know it’s all a dream I wonder if I will ever understand The workings of my mind When sleep overtakes me And dreams and reality become entwined.
