Book of Destiny - Goodbye

When it’s my time to say goodbye
Gently hold my hand but do not cry
For love surrounds me this I know
It’s just my time to quietly let go
Let go of things that hold me here
Though I know that I will miss you dear
Do not mourn me for too long
For I will have completed this life’s song
I have lived a wondrous and fulfilling life
Filled with so much joy and little strife
I’ve met many people along the way
Some of whom are with me this day
There are others who have gone before me
That’s always the way it is meant to be
They are waiting to greet me when I get there
That feeling of love and expectation fills the air
You may not sense what I alone can see
Each time when I close my eyes so gently
But I know that I am not going alone
For my angels surround me to take me home
I am sad that I am leaving you my love
But this has been ordained from above
I know that one day that we will meet again
Though it won’t be here on this earthly plain
Please be happy, and don't be sad
Though you may be angry, don’t get mad
As hard as it is, it’s all meant to be
For it was written in my book of destiny.
My love will go with you every day
Though memories may fade it won’t go away
You may meet someone else it’s true
Someone who will love you the way you’ll need them to
It may not happen for awhile
But eventually you will remember again to smile
Accept that love and be happy dear
Let that new love take away those tears
Be happy, be loved and love again
Let the sun always shine through the rain
It will be different as it’s meant to be
For it’s a new chapter in your book of destiny.

...Behold all things old and new. The cycle of life remains the same in its 'consistency' to forever ‘change’ the things that affect us. It frees us of those beautiful moments shared with loved ones we wish to forever cling. We are not alone Dee, though our souls sometime feel we walk without companionship. Your pain is my pain and is shared by many. Though we enter this world by ourselves, we do not walk through it alone… our better angles guide us in the stillness and silence that covers like a warm blanket. May your better angles minister peace.

Oh Dee...your gentleness shines through every line. I lost my dad to cancer recently and in his last days he couldn't speak...but if he could, I think he would have said words like this to my mother. Beautiful. Thank you.

This poem was written for a very speical friend of mine who had lost his wife, the love of his life, to cancer. I tried to put myself into her shoes as to what she might have said to him, in regards to moving on with his life in the future. (I know they had discussed it in the time before she died). I woud like to think that it's how I would feel if I was the one who was dying, loving my man as much as she did and wanting him to be happy again one day. I hope that I got it right.... blessings and love Dee
