So many times I’ve heard the enemy scream at me

“Why are you wasting your time with all of this writing-

It’s never going to get you anywhere, can’t you see?

Day after day you sit at your computer and write

Can hardly get you to turn it off without a fight

You’re hoping and praying that your writing takes flight

Yet you go to bed unfulfilled night after night

Why do you keep at it Janice? What do you think it’ll prove?

When you’re aware that I know, that in the end, you’ll lose?

I was the arch angel of music, of the arts and literary prose

I was in the heavens doing anything that I chose

Look at me now, look at where I am today

Down here ruling a miserable little planet filled with dismay

I could have been a contender, could’ve had anything that I wanted

But oh no, I’m here on earth with people like you, being taunted”

I listened to him scream until he was through and then I said

“Listen you wretched devil, I’ve got something now, to tell you!

God has told me to overcome you, he’s given me his armor with which

To fight against you. He told me that you are weak and depleted

He told me that you have already been defeated

That there is nothing from you that I’ll ever have need of

So crawl back down into your hole and leave me alone

Stop screaming in my ear, repent and atone

For your own sins, and your own wicked ways

Because I’ll believe only in God all of my days

See He has already told me just what

A difference my writing will one day make-so

I command you to stop harassing me you snake!"

Psalm 25 (NKJ)

Prayer for Guidance and for Deliverance of David.

To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
O my God, in you I trust;
Do not let me be put to shame;
Do not let my enemies exult over me.
Do not let those who wait for you be put to shame;
Let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.
Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
For you are the God of my salvation;
For you I wait all day long.
Be mindful of your mercy, O LORD, and of your steadfast love,
For they have been from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
According to your steadfast love remember me,
For your goodness’ sake, O LORD!
Good and upright is the LORD;
Therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way.
All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness,
For those who keep his covenant and his decrees.
For your name's sake, O LORD, pardon my guilt, for it is great.
Who are they that fear the LORD?
He will teach them the way that they should choose.
They will abide in prosperity, and their children shall possess the land.
The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him,
And he makes his covenant known to them.
My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.
Relieve the troubles of my heart, and bring mea out of my distress.
Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.
Consider how many are my foes, and with what violent hatred they hate me.
O guard my life, and deliver me;
Do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all its troubles.

Janice I a sorry I missed this one(???) but I am glad I caught it. The inspiration and the wisdom you write of and quote from the bible says so much. That ol' devil comes at us in so many ways with so many lies. We all have to be on constant guard and wage around the clock battle to stop him from robbing us of our greatest good/s. Battle on, my sister!

I love you too jamisvu! And I'm working on that SciFi book, for real! It's about a race of golden skinned aliens who come to planet earth in a red and blue semitruck that explodes, but not before they find that peaceful cyborg who works as a stock boy by day and a kitchette designer by night, and love him to death! :)

Just a poem I wrote to encourage myself as well as anyone else who needs encouragement. Along with another of my favorite scriptures.
