Life Is Such and Such Is Life

Life Is Such and Such Is Life

Methinks thou doth think too much

When such is life and life is such

Neither a borrower of others rhetoric

Nor a lender of the same be

Unlock the prison of your mind

So that you can be free

Be unconstrained of human distress

Don’t dare dwell on your transgress

Instead go ye into the desert of your heart

And let the healing fountain start

you have some nice take offs on old lines such "neither borrower nor lender be" and "methinks, he doth protest too much" .... from Ben Franklin to Shakespeare ... this is charming and clever, but the thing about this one it is very deeply woven, beneath, with thoughts that have come from other times as well as our own, and these thoughts are woven into a unity of ... well, you final lines ... (i even got a whisper of 'heart of darkness' here) ... you are very very interesting as a poet and I will be back to read more ...
