Grandfather
My last Grandfather passed away not nearly a year ago.  It' very glooming to know that my unborn child will not ever have met his Great grandfather.  Now that it's mentioned, I do not recall ever meeting my Great Grandfathers.  I didn't even know my two Granfathers very well.
I know my Father's Father was a carpenter as he is.  He loved to fish.  I remember going out to the lakes with him and watching him catch the big ones.  I remember how happy my Father was when the three of us were out there in the boat together.  I remember watching him get eaten away by the cancer he got from smoking.  I don't ever want to see something like that again.
My Mother's Father I don't really know to much about.  I saw him many times and spent time with him and my Grandmother, but I didn't really know the man that well?  He lived between two mountains in West Virginia.  Loved to mow his grass.  He would patiently spend hours at a time caring for his lawn.  I geuss it's like me and painting, it just sooths me.  He was a very calm and jolly man.  Yes jolly, he was a big man, but with a big heart.
I have to suggest you take some extra time for your elders.  They will not be around forever.  You will regret it if you don't.  I know I do.

With every goodbye we learn. Take what you have learned from your grandparents and pass on the goodness and love. They will always live in your heart.
