Greed
When all else seems to fail The light has gone away Your strength will seem so frail When darkness takes the day
As night consumes the worlds And fire burns black as ash No wind for flags unfurled Nor breeze to test the mast
The sea itself runs clean But man will never see If the sun shone pristine We still would gnash our teeth
Our greed is never sated If the whole world be ours For light and good we hated But still we want the stars
Our lives are always empty For nothing satisfies Everything seems so tempting But our eyes to us lie
Our stomaches never filling Our throats are always dry Though everything we're killing Ready never to die
Our selfishness consumes us And so blots out the sun The darkness overrules us Fulfillment never comes
Until we cease devouring This world will drown in dark Till virtue stops it's cowering In man's most wretched heart
The world will never flourish And man will always fall Never will we be nourished The darkest fate of all...
