Too Short
- Like the river after another rainless winter,
- Running on a low stream, and here we sit and shiver,
- So alive, yet freezing to death,
- Give that cigarette a light, is that my last smoke, or your first breath?
- All i know is that the second hand on my watch is frozen where its been forever, right on the eight,
- I stopped keeping time years ago luckily, or was it weeks ago, maybe days.
- Does it really matter? I'd like to think not.
- Funny how we base the time we spend on some numbers on a clock,
- But the irrelevance of that, to this situation,
- Where your benevolence goes hand in hand with all of my elation,
- It's a silly thing really,
- Because its some negative number outside, yet your warmth is all i'm feeling.
