You say you’re not the jealous type

But your zoom goes from left to right

A build up of emotions rumble, then

An explosion of the rainbow colours ignite.

Confessions are eagerly thundered

Words said in anger brings pain

Shaken like a well mixed cocktail

That is digested and taken to the brain.

Illuminate, illusive issues are said

We are exhausted and our being deflate

Blame is tagged and promises are made

Then we turn to each other and wait.

We wait to see what the other will do

While both minds work on an excuse

Will you or will I make the first move, and

Cut the atmosphere from its icy chill.

The juice from the plum does not flow

Because it’s caged up in a glass bowl

Watching and waiting for that next mistake

To be blamed, then the silent state.

Wonderful expression. The subject you are writing about is not good, but you nailed your feelings with the imagery. Moments like this makes it so hard to love. I do feel for you and wish you the best. Colorfully done!

To all fellow prose writers, poem builders, novelists etc, be as critical as you like
about my pieces of work. I welcome all views as this is how I question the question
and think outside my own comfort zone.
