The Light and Darkness of One's Heart (Epilogue)

PAGE ONE (two panels)

Panel 1. A close up of Light’s face. Her head is turning to the left and her eyes are hidden by her hair. All the time she is surrounded by her golden aura, as Darkness is always surrounded by her dark one.

LIGHT

Ever since I remember, there have been a great many stories of men through out history.

Panel 2. The same as panel 1, but with Darkness

DARKNESS

Why, I can recall quite a few with a moment’s thought! It is ever so fun to see men and women blinded by either one of us, dear sister-

PAGE TWO (four panels)

Panel 1. Light’s bosom from up front. Both eyes are now uncovered. Her head is set facing us, but her eyes are turned to her right, as if looking over her shoulder. She smiles playfully.

LIGHT:

It is true, sister, that after so much time of one mistake after the other, men and women seem unable to balance their heart.

Panel 2. Same as panel one of this page, but with Darkness.

DARKNESS:

It’s not as if we helped generously either. We’re constantly fighting to take over the hearts of the protagonists in our stories.

Panel 3. In front of Light, a little to her left. She is now actually looking over her right shoulder. Behind her stands Darkness. She is also looking over her shoulder, but to the left.

LIGHT:

Of which a great many there are

Panel 4. The same as panel three, but with Darkness in front. Darkness looks to her left while Light, behind her, looks to her right.

DARKNESS:

And our favourites we have.

PAGE THREE (four panels)

Panel 1. This could be a big panel, both wide and long. Here, Light and Darkness stand next to each other. Light stands to our left while Darkness stands to our right. They both adopt explanatory stances while they look at us. Their auras are constantly “playing” around them. Again, they smile, enjoying their roles as story tellers.

LIGHT:

Comprehension of our nature is not something to be acquired by anyone at any reasonable price.

DARKNESS:

Only those of strong hearts may wrap their mind around us.

LIGHT:

And thus control us.

Panel 2. This could be a panel as long as the previous one, but not as wide. Here, only the faces of Light and Darkness are seen. Darkness turns to look at Light with a reproachful look. Light’s face is turned towards us, her eyes are closed but her gesture is one of agreement.

DARKNESS:

Do not think so lowly of us, sister. We are not anyone’s to control.

LIGHT:

A sound statement that is. We are involved in many aspects of the human life.

Panel 3. This panel takes half of the space left in the page. Darkness has again turned to look at us, her smile adorning her face a new. Light opens her eyes. Darkness looks at us proudly. Light looks down caringly, taking her hands to her chest.

DARKNESS:

And the heart is but one instance of these aspects.

LIGHT:

The most complex and delicate of all aspects.

Panel 4. The same size as panel 3. Light and Darkness look at each other tauntingly.

DARKNESS:

And even though we are always trying to steal as much terrain as possible from the other…

LIGHT:

It is always the owner of that heart who decides which one of us his heart will house.

PAGE 4 (four panels)

Panel 1. This is a medium Panel. It’s a close up of Light’s and Darkness’ faces. Light and Darkness look away from us, considering the words they speak. They seem to “remember” something, their eyes seeing things that are not really there.

DARKNESS:

Many stories we have.

LIGHT:

And our favourites we posses.

DARKNESS:

There treasured stories are, by nature, great in their very essence.

Panel 2. This is a small panel. It is only big enough for us to see Light’s lips mouthing her words.

LIGHT:

And the battle in the heart of our protagonists is one of epic proportions.

Panel 3. The same as the previous panel but with Darkness’ mouth.

DARKNESS:

As the greatest enemy a man or woman could ever have is their very heart.

Panel 4. This is a big panel. We look at Light and Darkness at an angle from above. They’re looking up at us provocatively, as if inviting us to delight in something.

LIGHT:

Listen well to this story we are to tell

DARKNESS:

It is, by far, our favourite.
