Pocket Watch

Pocket Watch

The world's a swinging pocket watch
Swaying, dangling with the stars
There's only so much time you've got
The grains of sand can only roll so far.

Listen to the steady beat
Softly encouraging your soul
And struggling daily to compete
With the "musts" that take control.

The world's a swinging pocket watch
Swaying dangling in the air
There's only so much time you've got
Before the chain will start to wear.

Oh, listen to the steady beat!
Oh, heed the soul's song!
They sing of something sweet-
Speak of what you long.

The world's a swinging pocket watch
Swaying, dangling with the stars
There's only so much time you've got
The grains of sand can only roll so far.

for variation's sake in the last stanza i'd switch 'swinging' with 'twirling'
