There Ain't No Comin' Back
My tragic past
I tried to forget
memories don't die
it's a safe bet

All my broken toys
have all gone
our story books got dirty
their pages lie torn

The rain came pouring
the car dove a wicked left
in an instant the light was shattered
and in darkness you were kept

Silent little jingles
plastic race cars on their track
I could cry for days and days
but there ain't no comin' back

The sun is shining
birds are singing
Butter is stalking,
pouncing, playing

Wild and free
a hunter's spirit - attack!
but you ranged to far away
now there ain't no comin' back

My perfect friend
always at my side
a little dog for a little man
love and loyalty collide

Twenty years ago we parted
fifteen years since you passed
you could never be replaced
and there ain't no comin' back

Very touching piece my friend. Simple and elegant. It has a very personal feel of immense love and loss. you continue to inspire me.
