So Shallow...
So paper thin,
And so superficial.
The emotion you express,
It's so conditional.

So friend related,
To keep you from looking a fool,
Then you flip your face the other way,
I didn't realize there were two.

One of you to cry with,
And tell you how I feel,
One of you to gossip with,
My personal life revealed.

The other side is so alive,
It dominates all of you,
The part I love left center stage,
The real you in full view.

This relationship goes six feet deep,
To me you're just dead,
A sell out and meaningless,
You'll never get ahead.

For now I just settle in,
My heart stays iron shut,
Waiting for another friend,
Healing from your cuts.

I totally agree with what both Lindsay and Ed has said here. I feel, in my being, every word of this poem. Beautifully written!

So emotional yet so true. I can tell you wrote with pain and with wisdom here. You speak for all who have felt like this and cannot put it into words.

This is wonderfully written. I can feel the hurt and depth of your emotions in each word.
