The Endless Path (Part II)
Every day keeps growing longer,
as does this darkened, lonely trail.
Time goes by, yet no feelings change,
I will make my camp here for now.
Looking back at old distressed letters,
from when our world was whole.
Emotions keep overwhelming me,
too many for me to continue focus.
Weeks into months have passed,
since I last felt your gentle touch.
I convert this pain into motivation,
to move on to what is next.
Trying my hardest to be optimistic,
though lack of you holding me down.
Laying alone by the creek bed,
the wind carries a familiar aroma.
The sweet smell of opium and roses,
reminding me so much of you.
Further down the road, I hear a voice,
confessing this was all a mistake.
I walk in that direction, hoping,
though no one is really there.
My subconscious mind, fooling me,
just another waste of time.
How much longer will this last,
I lust to bring forth an end.
Though I know is out of perception,
while I contiune down the endless path....

Your feelings for her are very intense. Yet, it is a good thing that you find the correct expression of them. You desire to work through painful feeling. It has to fade. Fine poem.
