Laid To Waste (History Repeats)
It has all fallen to the ground,
nothing at all remains of this pathetic empire.
Brought down by greed, lust, pride and envy,
that which is all in human nature.
They denied it so much it destroyed them.
false idols surrounded them, giving hope for existence.
Governed by fairytales promising of a heaven,
Their minds were closed, just to be safe.
decline of natural morally soon occurred.
The books ideas were only better.
They only believed what those in power told them.
It was better off this way. They Didn't know any better.
Bribe them with wealth, hope and synthetic happiness.
So determined to reach those gates.
They had forgotten what had really mattered.
Leaving their backs turned, facing a "God"
They were hit, burned and brought to their knees.
They lived their lives only to die.
Because death promised so much better.
Something they had never seen, just told.
Laid to waste by their own ignorance,
Left to find out if their harbored lives were worth it,
or just a meaningless waste of existence....

Many parts of this reminds me of the Roman Empire and how it sowed the seeds of it's own destruction. But how many other civilizations have done the same? And today, how many are doing the same? I agree with you on that part, however I do believe in God and that's where we differ. SOS, I see a talented young man in you. And you have a message that you present to the world in your own way.
