Calle Ocho is a magical street
where a white dove suddenly appears
from nowhere in the sky
Little Havana
Guayabera shirts and cigars
Cuba libre
Calidad del cobre
San Lazaro
Lechon asado
cooked in Chinese box
An old Chinese restaurant
serving with papa frita and platano maduro
Orange Bowl is gone now
So much memory
salsa and merengue
Family get-together means fiesta
hasta la madurgada
with or without money
with or without baby
We had so much to drink
La vida va pa'lante
Azucar!
Celia Cruz was calling me
Jesus was securely staked
on the cross
Mid-winter sun is a blessing
evergreen land
Waves ripple all day long
on the shoreline
The closest thing resembles to snow
is coconut flake
on rum sponge cake
where now I can call it
my second home

God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference
---The serenity prayer

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us---Roman5: 1-5
