Ascending
I just wanted to sleep a little longer this morning
Time was traveling backward
and I was flying to chase the sun
I had no more pain
of a sheet of ice broken
into pieces somewhere
down around the line of my stomach
Where will the pain lead me after all?

And I tried to breath
when what I once thought 'hope'
turned into somewhat absurd
It was guiding me to the place of unknown
I reached out my hands
extending my arms
so I won't be left behind or trapped

I don't know how long I was flying
Then I was tired of flying
flying against time
flying to catch up the sun
Finally I got to the place
an absurd place that I felt like I needed to stay
People seemed happy there
blowing rainbow-color bubbles with their long straws
Those bubbles were moving slowly
along the river across the hill

I chased the bubbles like a child
realizing that I could walk
run like a child...again!
I could see flowers on the bank of the river
and I could smell them again
I saw myself on the surface of water
and I was young again
I didn't want to sleep anymore
Time wasn't traveling backward nor forward
The sun was brighter and whiter than ever
It wasn't scorching hot
There was no need to squint my eyes
I was walking like flying
running like bubbles in the air
I was a fragrant flower
I was the water of the river

Is this absurd place is the 'place'?

God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference
---The serenity prayer

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us---Roman5: 1-5
