Passing Time
Choking on the smog, getting Lost in the crowd,
City life just dragging me down.
Towering buildings trap me inside,
People and traffic just soaring by,
Stuck in the motion of everyday life,
Trying to escape, getting left behind.

High resolution and on fast forwards,
No rewind or capacity of storage.
Everyday life swallowing time,
No recognition of our crimes.
Image and status of great importance,
Settling low, And False arrangements.

Musicians n artists scraping for pennies,
Whilst cheats and lawyers throw away twenties.
Men who want women as trophies or whores,
Women who marry for money and jewels,
Stuck in a rut too scared to change,
Time runs out, you’d think were deranged.

We haven’t got long to make our mark,
Find true love and then embark,
On our journey of excitement,
An adventure of fun.
Remember always to walk never run,

Good work, Roxy - great rhythm and ideas to this (watch we're instead of were in the last line of the penultimate stanza). Very Emily Dickinson to end on a comma rather than a stop, and the use of capitalising verbs and adjectives!

ok, i find myself singing this. rewind, cheats/twenties, embark/journey, walk neve run...and traffic soaring... this poem is wonderful. it speaks and is full of movement... movement in the right direction... it gives the reader that adventure and journey to take right till the very last line... and then we continue. another great write.
