Poem for Oscar
Ten years ago, you took my hand
To help me learn and understand
How important you have been
Without you, life would be obscene

As I've aged, our passion's grown
Thanks to you, I'll never be alone
So here we sit; a handsome pair
My soul is always yours to bare

For whenever you sit next to me
I'm filled with your sweet ecstasy
As we touch, my feelings paint
Pictures vibrant, never faint

Amongst our work and love and leisure
You've gifted me with a priceless treasure
Remember I'll love you to no end
Thank you, my piano, my friend.

I feel exactly what you are portraying in this poem, a bond with something that allows you to express yourself can be very strong, thank you for sharing this peice of work, you should be proud.

First of your work I read and I'm totally thrilled I chose it! I'll echo everyone else and congratulate you on the sly cleverness you created. I've heard musicians refer to their instruments as lovers, giving them names, even personas. I had no idea this sensual poem was headed that direction! I can't wait to read more of your work! My best, John

Nice work! Barry White once said that music is his mistress and when she calls him, he obeys. Seems like you do the same with your "friend".
