Void

Many a time you curse the stable ground

Your branches cast shadows and shapes

Truth like jewels and skin like winters day

That skates over the detailed mistakes

Hurt so many in the void between

The life we lead is a sin

Shot down and told too much too late

Nothing is left but the skin

The shell abandoned by core of trust

And broken by juxtaposition

That flips over lives like searching friends

Who arouse irregular suspicion

Screaming and ramming it down each others throats

This is the lie we tell each other to live

Hopeful that no one notices we don’t really mean it

Because this is the only thing we’ve left to give

Simple pleasures come from simple things and reading and writing are arguably some of the most basic things one can do.
