Little Jared

 Little Jared

I saw an angel sleeping
so soundly in his bed
his hair so fair with sweeping curls
at the base of his little head

Sleeping on his tummy
with his rump up in the air
lashes long and cherry lips
with dimples deep and fair.

His features are so perfect
in a boyish cherubic way.
My day's made light by his presence
when he comes down to play.

I see my angel playing
and I wonder what he will be,
when he grows up to be a man
for all the world to see.

My thoughts they do not wander long
with his hands upon my knee
he quickly stretches up and says,
"Gramma, please hold me!"

This is so sweet! I am sure your grandson will cherish this always. My Grammy is everything to me as I am sure you will be to him.

I liked this and I know the feeling with grand children. I did get tongue twisted in the in the first stanza 3 line, and the 3rd stanza 3rd line. It seem to chop the flow. Very good over all!
